<image:title>Meet the Quilters</image:title>
<image:caption>m.Lea Ingram~ At the age of three, I spent a year confined to bed with an illness. My constant companions were my crayons & paper and my mom's sewing basket. I have always felt the need to be creating something. Several years ago I decided to combine my two passions of painting and sewing and so my Art Quilts were born. Curiosity and a love of trying new things leads me to explore many techniques, however, my own unique style usually is evident in whatever I do. With my work, I hope to touch the hearts of the viewers and take them on a journey of possibilities. My inspiration is nature and the incredible beauty and solace I experience all around in the great outdoors.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Toni Wass ~ Influenced by my Mom, I began hand-stitching at 5, making clothes at 11. By 13, I was inspired to make my first Quilt using a book of classic quilt blocks. I was off and running! In 2004, I opened my fabric store, Tiger Textiles, leaning more & more! I fell in love with Kauai in 2011, and moved here in 2019, where I now teach Quilting classes. As a “Longarm” Quilter, I quilt for others and also make custom quilts. Sewing is my passion, Fabric my addiction. I strive to enjoy the ‘process’. Thank you, Mom, for starting me out with hand stitching. And thank you Kauai for welcoming me into your community.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Linda Mathews ~ I’ve always been fascinated with quilting, but never thought I could actually make quilts! I purchased a quilting book in 2019 inspiring me to give it a go. It has been so much fun! I love all of the beautiful fabrics and great patterns to work with. It’s a wonderful community and I have made lots of new friends. I’m so happy to be a part of it and be able to share my quilts.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Meet the Quilters</image:title>
<image:caption>In late 2019, the Garden Isle Quilters first came together as 5 Quilters with a desire to show their collective works at KSA in August of 2020. Founder, Jeni Hardy spearheaded this effort, bringing together Lea Ingram, Toni Wass, Julie Fregeau & Lesley Morris. Then in 2020 it happened; life changed for all of us. Undaunted, the group looked at their first Show as "...a dry run", not expecting anything. The response was "tremendous", the Show was a huge success! In 2022 Julie left, and Linda Mathews came aboard. As the Garden Isle Quilters gained strength in their shows, their Founder Jeni passed away after a lengthy battle with cancer in early August of 2024. Going from five to four Artist, it was decided to bring on a "Guest Artist" for 2025, Lucinda Tardif accepted the invitation. Having great success, Lucinda accepted a permanent position, as Lesley Morris stepped down to pursue virtual teaching in textile & quilting arts. This still left the Garden Isle Quilters one Artist shy of Five going into 2026. Lyndia Irion accepted the 2026 Guest Artist spot, and will be showcased in their 7th Annual Show, August 14-24, 2026 Garden Isle Quilters Show & Sale at KSA (Kauai Society of Artist), continuing to promote the Art of Quilting & Textiles. Hope you're able to join us in person or virtually! Looking forward ~</image:caption>

We continue to look forward to seeing what Lucinda brings to our exhibit August 14th-22nd of 2026. <image:caption>Experience Lea Ingram's exuberant expressions of love as Art Quilts and Watercolor paintings created on and inspired by the beauty of Kauai, the Garden Island of Hawaii. “Life is art, art is Life : intricate, profound, delicate, inspiring, uplifting, and healing. It is sweet and bitter and often heartwarming. Art, like life, is divine mystery, yet it is also so very simple. These qualities both fascinate and inform me, and are the inspiration for creating my art. I hope my work speaks to you, perhaps in ways that would surprise me, ways that are for you alone. It is my great privilege to participate in life as an artist. Please be my guest and visit my website. With Aloha, Lea”. Lea's Website</image:caption>
